Another week-end and a another camp! A total of 17 of us made our way on a dark Friday night to Downe; putting-up tents in the dark and then the scouts were dropped in two groups for a night hike… which went perfectly for the first time in years, thanks their leaders Zia and Josh.
Over the w.e they did grass sledging, climbing, shooting, an incident hike, orienteering and cooked their own meals and had a great time. Rod excelled himself with his campfire; with a ball of fire appearing from high in a tree, hurtling down a wire to light the campfire ( well, very nearly!) but a great campfire!
Zia was awarded her Cheif Scout’s Gold Award and we came 2nd and 3rd over-all, but we won the incident hike. Well done everyone. It was Jaki & Tom’s first camp with us and as he is out 3rd Tom he is now called TomTomTom! Pictures for you to see in the album.
