Great performance on a cold night.
A quick line of thanks to scouts who turned-up last night to collect money, play and sing, Â and parents who came to give us all a bit of extra support at the Annual Carol Service at Albins’ memorial garden.
Lets try to put some names to faces and voices ;
Â
Scouts and YLs: Â Kweku/ recorder, Rebekah / sax, Jack /guitar, Ricky, Tom, Zia / flute, Josh / guitar, Duncan, Sam, Tom, Jade, James W/ trumpet, Sabrina, Sam B-M, James A and George.
Leaders Sonia, Sue, Rod ( and the old grey one).
Parents: Stefania, Elena & daughter, Jane, Janet, Sarah & Pauline.
Â
Special thanks to Jane Abraham who organised all the music. and to Deacon Mark , violinist extraordinare.
Â
It was a cold night, but we all found it very moving to know that all of the soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan come to Albins on their journey to their loved ones, and that 3 Royal Marines who died this week were ‘resting’ a few feet from where we sang. Our young people did themselves great credit, and I’m sure it would have been appreciated by the families of these young men.
Â
And so, on-to our second Carol service tomorrow! 6.30 at Manor, nice and smart and ready for a really fun night!

Eddie
